Funeral Information for Sr. Mary Houle

I just got off the phone with Sr. Mary Houle's sister, Lucy. She informed me that Sr. Mary's health really started taking a decline in December and her doctor told her she only had about three months to live. She has been in an out of the hospital since December. 

Her funeral arrangements are as follows:

Funeral Mass: Wednesday, April 3, 10AM at Holy Family Parish, Clarkston WA
Internment: Thursday, April 4, 10AM Wynoochee Cemtery, Montesano, WA

I will not be able to attend the Funeral Mass or Internment so we will probably have a Memorial Mass in the very near future for friends from Western Washington.

Book Corner

Someone gave me a copy of a great new book by Sherry A. Weddell. It's called "Forming Intentional Disciples — The Path to Knowing And Following Jesus". I highly recommend this book. It gives you a lot to think about and how we need to get back on track with the mission of the Church. Here's a quote from Pope Benedict XVI which is in the book: Faith is above all a personal, intimate encounter with Jesus, and to experience his closeness, his friendship, his love; only in this ways does one learn to know him ever more, and to love and follow him ever more. May this happen to each one of us.

Retreat

I enjoyed the retreat I conducted this past weekend. It was also great to see a few faces from my old parish. I came home and found out that one of the pipes in the church broke during the Spanish Mass. It made a huge mess so we had Mass last night in the gymnasium as well as this morning. I sure hope things will be back up and running for Our Lady of Guadalupe celebration on Thursday. I have recorded the homily and it is available here. Have a great day!
