Ready, Set, Fly!

My dad and brother arrived late last night. In just a few hours we will be departing on a seaplane for a fishing camp on Vancouver Island. There are weight restrictions for the flight so I just emptied out a bunch of items I was planning on bringing. 

If you could keep us in your prayers that would be great! Also, please pray that I catch the biggest fish:) 

We will return on Thursday evening. The lodge where we are staying has internet so hopefully I will be able to share some photos.

Book Corner

Someone gave me a copy of a great new book by Sherry A. Weddell. It's called "Forming Intentional Disciples — The Path to Knowing And Following Jesus". I highly recommend this book. It gives you a lot to think about and how we need to get back on track with the mission of the Church. Here's a quote from Pope Benedict XVI which is in the book: Faith is above all a personal, intimate encounter with Jesus, and to experience his closeness, his friendship, his love; only in this ways does one learn to know him ever more, and to love and follow him ever more. May this happen to each one of us.

Retreat

I enjoyed the retreat I conducted this past weekend. It was also great to see a few faces from my old parish. I came home and found out that one of the pipes in the church broke during the Spanish Mass. It made a huge mess so we had Mass last night in the gymnasium as well as this morning. I sure hope things will be back up and running for Our Lady of Guadalupe celebration on Thursday. I have recorded the homily and it is available here. Have a great day!
